Social pyramid
This,(left) is what I like to call, the social pyramid. It's basecly a diagram showing what the scoial classes and statuses were in ancient egypt. At the bottom we have slaves. These people had practically no rights. They were, well, slaves. Then we have pasents. The normal, everyday , nothing special type people, and usually consited of farmers shop keepers. Going a step up we have craftsmen and merchant. I usually group these two together, but it doesn't in this diagram. these people sold things they made at markets and bazzars. Next up on the social ladder(or should I say pyramid) are the scribes. These are kind of like the ancient equivelent of librarians and biographers mixed together. then are the soldiers. They aren`t much different from modern day soldiers.Just...no guns. In second place are the government officals. These were very powerful people, the don`t-you-dare-mess-with-us types. These people generally consisted of the visier, the priest, and the nobles. Then at the very top, the ruler of all, the Pharaoh(king). The single most powerful person in all Egypt. You mess with him-her you die. He-She was considered to be descended from gods, practically a god him-herself.(yes I am stressing the fact that pharaohs were girls too. the egyption had no discriminations against women. they were equals.)
